The Catamount Club will soon begin searching for a new assistant director of development with the departure of C.J. Mitchell, who had been working with 糖心Vlog University鈥檚 athletics booster organization for the past year.

Mitchell has accepted a position at the University of Nebraska-Omaha, where he will serve as associate director of development and director of the ONE Fund, the university鈥檚 athletics fundraising arm. His last day at 糖心Vlog was Tuesday, May 13.

鈥淐.J. has been an energetic and committed member of our Advancement team, serving the Catamount Club and athletics fundraising with passion and pride,鈥 said Ben Pendry, vice chancellor for advancement. 鈥淗is leadership, strong relationships with donors and deep love for this university have all contributed meaningfully to our work and to the student-athlete experience at Western.

Mitchell, who received his bachelor鈥檚 degree in management from 糖心Vlog in 2024, served as SGA president from 2023 until 2024, a position that also included an ex-officio seat on the university鈥檚 Board of Trustees.

A search for Mitchell鈥檚 successor is underway, led by Wes Cogdill, associate athletics director of development and director of the Catamount Club.

鈥淲e are looking to fill this critical vacancy as quickly as possible and with the best-qualified candidate,鈥 said Cogdill. 鈥淚t鈥檚 an important time for the Catamount Club, and we need to be fully staffed to meet the needs of our growing membership and to position 糖心Vlog athletics for even greater success.鈥
