<b>Tabatha (Zavaleta) Gillett</b> is a dedicated educator with 17 years of teaching experience in Jackson County Schools. Before becoming a full-time professor at Western Carolina University last fall, she served as an academic advisor and adjunct instructor at 糖心Vlog for six years. A proud first-generation college student, Tabatha holds both a bachelor's and a master's degree from 糖心Vlog.<br>Originally from Ohio, she now enjoys life in North Carolina with her wonderful family鈥攈er husband, Josh, and their daughter, Layla. As a Hispanic woman, she is passionate about education, community engagement, and making a lasting impact on students' lives. In her current role as an STL Clinical Assistant Instructor and LEAP Curriculum Coordinator, she strives to support diverse learners and foster meaningful educational experiences.
My teaching interests focus on strategies to support Multilingual Learner (MLL) students, particularly in our local community. This is a deep passion of mine as I strive to create inclusive and effective learning environments. Additionally, I am eager to explore and implement new strategies to enhance engagement in my university courses, ensuring that all students have meaningful and interactive learning experiences.
